Festina Lente bridge over the Miljacka River at dusk

Evocative evening view of the Festina Lente pedestrian bridge crossing the Miljacka River in central Sarajevo. This contemporary bridge with its innovative loop shape, designed by students of the Academy of Fine Arts, represents the rebirth of the city after the war. On the left stands the majestic Academy of Fine Arts building with its characteristic green dome in pseudo-Moorish style, built during the Austro-Hungarian period. The Latin name of the bridge, meaning "make haste slowly", invites passersby to slow down and enjoy the panorama of the river reflecting the city lights at sunset.
