The majestic Lovrijenac Fortress dominating the Adriatic

Spectacular view of Lovrijenac Fortress, known as the Gibraltar of Dubrovnik, rising on a rocky spur overlooking the Adriatic Sea. This imposing 11th-century fortification, located 37 meters above sea level, protected the western entrance of the Republic of Ragusa. On the right, the mighty medieval walls of the old town extend along the coast, while in the background the red roofs of the historic center and the hills of Mount Srd complete the panorama. The fortress is also famous for being the location of the Red Keep in the TV series Game of Thrones.
