The courtyard between Blocks A and B in Theresienstadt Small Fortress

The inner courtyard between Blocks A and B of Theresienstadt Small Fortress. This outdoor space was one of the few places where prisoners could see daylight. Roll calls and sometimes public punishments took place here. The high walls and barred windows constantly reminded detainees of their imprisonment.
