The execution gallows in Theresienstadt Small Fortress

The wooden gallows in the execution yard of Theresienstadt Small Fortress. This sinister structure, with steps to climb and the beam for hanging, was used to execute numerous prisoners, often members of the Czechoslovak resistance. Executions took place in the corner of the courtyard, surrounded by high brick walls that prevented any escape. This place is preserved as a warning for future generations.
