Panoramic view of the characteristic trulli of Monte Sabotino in Alberobello, the capital of trulli in Apulia. These conical dry-stone constructions, with their cone-shaped roofs covered with chiancarelle slabs, represent a unique example of Mediterranean vernacular architecture. Alberobello, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996, preserves over 1500 trulli in its historic center.
