A street lamp with three lanterns still lit stands against the dawn sky by the sea in Bari. Photographed by drone about three metres above the take-off point, near San Nicola pier, it occupies the left side of the frame. Behind it, the sea stretches to the horizon. The lamp is secured to a stone plinth by a base with scroll-shaped feet. Its shaft has a decorative bulge and a fluted upper section, topped by a vase-shaped feature supporting the three lanterns. Small ball finials crown their roofs. On the right, the seafront buildings follow the coastline, and the street lights are reflected in the water. Rising above the rooftops is the tower of the Palazzo della Provincia, which houses the Corrado Giaquinto art gallery. On the left, a sailing boat lies at anchor in front of the breakwater. The photograph was taken on the morning of 6 October 2026, just under twenty minutes before sunrise. The sky glows orange near the horizon and fades into blue, with thin pink clouds stretching across it. The gently rippled sea reflects its colours.
