The Torre Guaceto Nature Reserve stretches for about 8 kilometers along the Brindisi coastline, representing one of the most precious coastal ecosystems in Apulia. The name derives from the homonymous coastal watchtower, erected in the 16th century to defend the coast from Saracen raids. Today the protected area hosts a rich biodiversity among Mediterranean scrub, sandy dunes and wetlands.
