The arched structure of the Madonna della Stella Aqueduct Bridge spans the Gravina, a deep karstic canyon carved by the Crapo stream within the Alta Murgia National Park, connecting the historical town of Gravina in Puglia to the opposite bank. Its origins are uncertain, but it is documented from at least 1686. Following a collapse, the Orsini family reconstructed it around 1722 and transformed it into an aqueduct, intended to transport water from the Sant'Angelo and San Giacomo springs into the city. The bridge, approximately 90 meters long, originally also served as an access route for the faithful heading to the Church of the Madonna della Stella, located on the far bank.
