The territory between Santeramo in Colle and Matera represents one of the most characteristic areas of the border Murgia between Puglia and Basilicata. In this image, the hills show the typical undulation of the Murgian terrain, with wheat fields creating golden streaks on the landscape. The late afternoon light accentuates the reliefs, highlighting the soft curves of the hills. This is a transition territory, where the geological and climatic characteristics of the two regions merge to create a unique landscape. The cultivation of durum wheat here has ancient roots, dating back to the era of Magna Graecia.
