Monteserico Castle, perched on the summit of a hill, dominates the surrounding landscape in this evocative image. The medieval fortress, with its still well-preserved walls, stands out against the clear sunset sky. At its feet, golden wheat fields extend in every direction, creating a chromatic contrast of great impact. Built in the Norman era and later strengthened by the Swabians, the castle controlled one of the strategic junctions between Puglia and Basilicata. The lines of furrows in the fields seem to converge towards the hill, naturally guiding the eye towards the fortress. A landscape that seems to have come out of a medieval miniature.
