An ancient oil mill in Tursi

An ancient underground oil mill carved into the rock, visible in the Rabatana quarter of Tursi, the oldest village of this Lucanian town. These underground mills testify to the centuries-old olive oil tradition of Basilicata, where olive oil was produced in rock environments that guaranteed constant temperatures for processing.
