The composition documents the Casina Vanvitelliana, a building also known as the Royal Hunting and Fishing Lodge built on the islet of Lake Fusaro, in the municipality of Bacoli. The structure, completed in 1782, is an example of late Baroque architecture and was commissioned by Ferdinand IV of Bourbon. The building features a polygonal plan, characterized by three intersecting octagonal bodies. The entire construction is connected to the shore by a wooden bridge. In the foreground, the bridge extends over the lake surface. The Casina is reflected in the water, standing out under a daytime sky with cloud formations.
