The marina of Vittoriosa, one of Malta's three historic cities, presents itself at sunset with its elegant moored yachts reflecting in the calm waters. Vittoriosa, also known by its Maltese name Birgu, was the first seat of the Knights of St. John when they arrived in Malta in 1530 and remained the capital until Valletta was built. The historic buildings along the waterfront feature typical Maltese architecture with characteristic enclosed wooden balconies in various colors. St. Lawrence church bell tower dominates the skyline, while sunset light creates golden and pink tones. This marina is today one of the most exclusive harbors in the Mediterranean.
