The Stortinget, seat of the Norwegian Parliament, stands majestically in the heart of Oslo with its yellow brick architecture. The building, designed by Swedish architect Emil Victor Langlet and completed in 1866, features a semicircular facade that symbolically embraces citizens. The statue of King Haakon VII on horseback stands in front of the main entrance, while the gardens with green hedges create an orderly frame. The building houses the 169 people elected to the Storting, the Norwegian unicameral parliament.
