Gustav Vigeland Monolith stands majestically at the center of Frogner Park in Oslo, surrounded by the 36 sculptural groups decorating the stairway. Carved from a single granite block 14 meters high, the monument represents 121 human figures intertwined in an ascending movement towards the sky. Visitors climb the stairs to admire this extraordinary work up close, which took three stone carvers 14 years. The Norwegian summer sky with its white clouds frames this masterpiece of 20th century sculpture.
