The image shows the devastated interior of the bunker that housed Field Marshal Wilhelm Keitel, head of the Wehrmacht High Command. The corridor, partially collapsed, still features the metal ceiling beams and the remains of partition walls. Light filters through openings created by demolitions, illuminating the debris and leaves accumulated on the floor. Keitel was one of Hitler's closest collaborators and signed Germany's unconditional surrender on May 8, 1945. He was tried at Nuremberg and executed for war crimes in 1946.
