A bronze inscription embedded in the Warsaw pavement marks the path where the ghetto wall once stood. The inscriptions in Polish and English read "Muro Getta 1940 / Ghetto Wall 1943", indicating the years of the ghetto's existence. This type of commemorative signage has been installed at various points in the city to allow visitors to follow the original perimeter of the ghetto, which extended for over 18 kilometers. The wall, 3 meters high and topped with barbed wire, completely isolated the Jewish population from the rest of the city.
