This photograph captures the iconic view of Gothenburg harbor during the blue hour, that magical moment between sunset and night. In the foreground, a wooden pier leads the eye towards the marina where numerous pleasure boats are moored. On the left rises majestically the Barken Viking, a four-masted sailing ship from 1906 now transformed into a floating hotel and restaurant. At the center of the composition dominates the Lilla Bommen skyscraper, nicknamed by locals "Läppstiftet" (the Lipstick) for its characteristic shape with the red dome on top. The building, 86 meters tall and built in 1989, houses offices and a viewing point. In the background, the Göta älvbron bridge crosses the river. The reflections of lights on the calm water create a serene atmosphere typical of Scandinavian summer nights.
