St. Peterhofstatt square opens in front of St. Peter's Church, one of Zurich's oldest religious buildings. The church tower houses the largest clock face in Europe, with a diameter of 8.7 meters, visible from much of the city. The current church dates back to the 13th century, although the foundations are much older. In the foreground, a modern stone sculpture creates an interesting contrast with the surrounding historic architecture. The buildings with pastel facades surrounding the square house shops and residences, keeping the atmosphere of the historic neighborhood alive.
