Thomas Jefferson - Father of the Declaration of Independence

The imposing bronze statue of Thomas Jefferson inside the memorial dedicated to him on the shores of the Tidal Basin in Washington. Nearly 6 meters tall, Rudulph Evans work depicts the third American president and author of the Declaration of Independence standing with a document in hand. The circular walls of the neoclassical memorial are engraved with his most famous words on liberty and inalienable rights. The open rotunda, inspired by Rome Pantheon and Jefferson own Monticello, symbolizes the Enlightenment that guided the Founding Fathers.
