The daily roll calls was a part of the day in the life of a prisoner. Nazis used roll calls to count, inspetc, humiliate and intimidate prisoners. Selections could also take place during the roll calls. Every single roll call could last even for hours due the thousands of prisoners of some camps, regardless of the weather. If prisoners did not remained perfectly still during the call they could be punished even with dead.
