Lion's Mound

The Lion statue rests on a stone basament. It is composed by nine parts of iron assembled on site. The Lion symbolizes the bravery and It is also on the heraldic effigy of the Dutches Kings. The right paw of the lion rests on a globe: this symbolizes the total victory gained by the seventh coalition over Napoleon and the French army.
