The eternal flame burns between green bronze walls of the commemorative monument in Vukovar cemetery

The eternal flame of the Vukovar memorial, symbolic heart of the cemetery dedicated to those who fell in the siege. The flame burns in a bronze brazier placed between two tall walls covered with oxidized bronze plates of characteristic green color. This monumental passage, similar to a portal between the world of the living and the dead, invites reflection and meditation. The flame, which never goes out, represents the eternal memory of the victims and the promise that their sacrifice will not be forgotten. The monument is the work of a Croatian architect who wanted to create a space of universal meditation.
