Evocative view of the Stone Gate (Kamenita vrata), the only surviving medieval gate of Zagreb ancient walls. This historic passage, built in the 13th century, connects the lower town to the upper town and houses inside a chapel with the miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary. Colorful pastel houses, red shutters and typical Central European architecture create an atmosphere of times past. The gate is one of Croatia most important pilgrimage sites, visited by faithful praying before the sacred image that survived the great fire of 1731.
