The photograph shows the Old Town Bridge Tower (Staromestska mostecka vez), considered one of the most beautiful Gothic towers in Europe. Built in the late 14th century designed by Peter Parler, the tower features rich sculptural decoration with statues of saints, coats of arms, and reliefs celebrating Charles IV and his son Wenceslas IV. The ogival arch crossing the tower allows access to Charles Bridge, and through it Prague Castle on the hill can be glimpsed. On the right, a statue of Charles IV watches over the bridge entrance. Tourists crowd Krizovnicke namesti square, starting point for visiting the bridge. The surrounding buildings, with their baroque and Renaissance facades, testify to the architectural richness of Prague Old Town.
