The Star of David at Theresienstadt National Cemetery in memory of Jewish victims

A large stone Star of David stands in Theresienstadt National Cemetery, commemorating the Jewish victims of the ghetto and concentration camp. Theresienstadt was presented by Nazi propaganda as a model ghetto, but in reality it was a transit point to extermination camps. Approximately 140,000 Jews passed through Terezin, of whom over 33,000 died here and nearly 90,000 were deported to Auschwitz and other death camps. The star and cross together symbolize all victims of this tragedy.
