The interior of Dachau concentration camp crematorium, with four red brick cremation ovens aligned under wooden roof beams. These ovens, built in 1942-43 when the old crematorium was no longer sufficient, could burn dozens of bodies per day. The chain delimiting the area invites visitors to respect this sacred place. Next to the ovens was the autopsy room where gold teeth and other valuables were extracted from corpses. Dachau's crematorium is today one of the most visited memorial sites in Germany.
