The red brick exterior wall of Dachau's gas chamber shows three openings through which Zyklon B crystals were inserted to kill people inside. These small metal hatches, connected to ducts leading inside the chamber, allowed the SS to pour poison without entering the room. The drain pipe on the right was part of the ventilation system needed to eliminate gas after executions. This architectural detail reveals the cold industrial planning of Nazi extermination.
