The Renaissance portal of the Georgenbau in the Dresden Castle complex

The Georgenbau, also known as Georgentor, represents the western entrance to the Dresden Castle complex. This Renaissance portal, built between 1530 and 1535, features rich sculptural decoration with allegorical figures and heraldic coats of arms. The central arch is flanked by two armored warrior figures, while above the cornice develops a facade with elaborate windows and sandstone decorations.
