The vast Appellplatz (roll call square) of Sachsenhausen extends in a panoramic view with Tower A visible in the distance. This immense area was the center of camp life, where prisoners were gathered for roll calls that could last hours, in any weather conditions. The stripes on the ground indicate the path of the shoe testing track, where detainees were forced to march for kilometers testing footwear for the German industry.
