The remains of the Sachsenhausen crematorium show brick foundations and metal structures of the ovens. This building, known as Station Z, was built in 1942 and included cremation ovens, a gas chamber, and an area for executions by shooting in the neck. Thousands of people were killed and cremated here. The SS partially destroyed the structure before the camp liberation in 1945 to hide evidence of their crimes. The remains are now protected by a cover and are part of the memorial tour.
