A long perspective of the Buchenwald concentration camp fence, with concrete posts that supported the electrified barbed wire. The gravel path runs parallel to the fence, separating the prisoner area from the "neutral zone." On the right, a building with a red roof was part of the camp structures. The fence consisted of multiple rows of barbed wire, some of which carried high-voltage electrical current. Many prisoners, desperate due to inhumane living conditions, threw themselves against the wires to end their suffering.
