Imposing facade of the Odeon of Herodes Atticus stage building at the foot of the Athens Acropolis. The limestone structure features three superimposed orders of arches reaching a height of 28 meters, a magnificent example of 2nd century AD Roman theatrical architecture. The round arches, statue niches, and remains of decorations testify to the building original richness. The wide paved square in front of the stage served as orchestra space and allowed actors to move during performances.
