The image captures the Széchenyi Chain Bridge during the blue hour, that magical moment between sunset and night when the sky takes on intense cobalt blue tones. In the foreground stand the iconic stone lion statues, works by sculptor János Marschalkó, placed to guard the bridge entrances since 1852. Legend has it that the lions have no tongues, causing the sculptor to commit suicide in shame, but in reality the tongue is present, just not visible from below. The long exposure captures traffic light trails while the illuminated Parliament dominates the Pest skyline in the background.
