The image highlights the details of the bronze sculpture created by Miklós Ligeti in 1903: the face mysteriously hidden in the deep hood of the monastic cloak, the right hand extending a pen towards the observer. The green patina of the bronze, accentuated by the warm sunset light, gives the figure an enigmatic aura. The Anonymous was probably a notary at the court of King Béla III who wrote the Gesta Hungarorum, a fundamental chronicle for the history of Hungarian origins.
