The courtyard of Risiera di San Sabba in the area where the crematorium stood, now marked by a metal imprint on the ground. Risiera was the only Nazi extermination camp on Italian territory equipped with a crematorium. Here thousands of people were killed and burned, mainly Slovenian and Croatian partisans, Jews and political opponents.
