The vault of Vianden Castle chapel presents itself as a masterpiece of medieval architecture and decoration. The hexagonal structure is characterized by ribs converging towards a central rose, painted in terracotta tones with white striped geometric patterns. The angular columns in blue and grey support the capitals from which the ribs branch out, while the vault webs are decorated in pastel tones. This Romanesque chapel, dedicated to the Trinity, was built in the 10th century and represents the oldest part of the castle. The perspective from below upwards enhances the geometric and chromatic complexity of this sacred architecture.
