The photograph documents the interior of one of the bunker corridors at the Wolfsschanze. The reinforced concrete walls, blackened by time and humidity, delimit a narrow passage that led to the various rooms of the structure. The rusty metal ceiling beams are still visible, as are the remains of the original plaster. The floor is covered with debris, leaves and stagnant water. Natural light penetrates from the end of the corridor, creating a depth effect that emphasizes the length of the passage. These tunnels connected the different sectors of the underground complex.
