Magnificent facade of Casa de Colon in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, historic building where Christopher Columbus stopped during his first voyage to the Americas in 1492 to repair the caravel Pinta. The monumental green stone portal, finely carved in Gothic-Renaissance style, is one of the architectural gems of the Canary Islands. The projecting wooden balconies, typical of Canarian architecture, decorate the ochre facade of the building that today houses a museum dedicated to Columbian voyages and historic links between the Canaries and the Americas.
