One of the few surviving sections of the original Warsaw ghetto wall, preserved in a courtyard between residential buildings. The red brick wall, about three meters high, contrasts dramatically with the modern glass and steel skyscrapers visible in the background. Concrete planters have been placed along the base of the wall, transforming this place of segregation into a space for reflection. Of the approximately 18 kilometers of wall that surrounded the ghetto, only a few fragments remain today, preserved as monuments to the memory of the over 400,000 people who were imprisoned there.
