The interior of the Frauenkirche reveals itself in all its Baroque magnificence, with the central plan topped by the great dome decorated in pastel tones. The monumental organ, rebuilt by Kern following Gottfried Silbermann original design, dominates above the altar in a composition of gold and white. The curved balconies on multiple levels could accommodate up to 3,600 worshippers. Natural light filters through the large windows, enhancing the soft colors of the stuccoes and frescoes. Visitors seated on the light wood pews admire this sacred space that represents the triumph of faith over destruction.
