Diomede’s Arch is a natural geological formation located in the sea stretch off the coast of Mattinata, within the Gargano National Park. This structure is a limestone sea stack originated by differential marine erosion, which shaped the sedimentary rock until creating a central arch-shaped opening. The geographical context places the monolith a short distance from the white cliff, characterized by horizontal stratifications and spontaneous Mediterranean vegetation. The site is situated in an area of significant geomorphological interest, where the action of the waves continues to modify the gravel deposits of the coastline and the profile of the rock walls.
