The historic center of Peschici and the cliff viewed from the harbor area
The urban settlement of Peschici is located atop a limestone promontory rising approximately 90 meters above the Adriatic Sea. The village is characterized by spontaneous architecture with domed roofs of Mediterranean and Oriental influence, distributed along the slope of the cliff. At the far edge stands the castle structure, originally built during the Norman era for coastal surveillance against maritime raids. The lower part of the image shows the marina infrastructure and the breakwater composed of stone blocks, which defines the docking and transit area for vessels. The geological context highlights the stratification of the sedimentary rock that forms the natural base of the entire town, integrated into the territorial system of the Gargano National Park.
