Pamplona, the capital of Navarre between history and tradition

Spain Pamplona

Photographic collection dedicated to Pamplona, capital of the autonomous community of Navarre in northern Spain. The images document the rich architectural heritage of this city founded by the Romans and world-famous for the San Fermin festival with its traditional running of the bulls. The photographs show the characteristic streets of the old town with buildings featuring colorful balconies, the church of San Lorenzo which houses the chapel dedicated to the patron saint, and the monumental Ayuntamiento, the baroque city hall that dominates the square from which every July 6th the famous chupinazo is launched to start the festivities. Pamplona preserves intact the charm of a fortified medieval city, crossroads of the Camino de Santiago.
