The image shows the Cathedral of Nuestra Senora de la Asuncion of Santander, with its austere stone facade perfectly reflected in the water pool of the square. The building, in Gothic style with Renaissance elements, features two twin towers and an arched portico in the lower part. A cherry tree in bloom adds a note of spring color to the composition. In the center of the square, the statue of a bishop on a column. The original cathedral dates from the 13th century, but the current building is the result of reconstruction following the 1941 fire. The bar tables on the right testify to the daily life that animates this square in the heart of the city.
