Castro Urdiales, the Gothic pearl of the Cantabrian coast

Photographic collection dedicated to Castro Urdiales, an ancient seafaring town located on the eastern coast of Cantabria, in northern Spain. The images document the architectural heritage of this village overlooking the Bay of Biscay, dominated by the majestic Gothic church of Santa Maria de la Asuncion, built between the 13th and 15th centuries and considered one of the most important examples of Cantabrian Gothic.
